Sumith is the topper of Karnataka.\u00a0 With this result, Sumith\u2019s dream of studying computer science at IIT Mumbai is realized.<\/p><p><strong>History is being made in Mangalore by Sumith! <\/strong>This has happened for the first time in the history of Mangalore that a student of our region has performed extremely well in the JEE Advanced examination<strong>. Babu and Aruna, is an achiever in true sense.&nbsp; A student of II PUC at Sharada PUC, Sumith, has proved his academic talent much before.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sumith had scored 320 out of 360 marks in the JEE-Main 2014 examination to emerge as topper in the districts of coastal Karnataka. (The rank list of JEE Main is yet to be announced).<\/li>\n<li>Sumith has secured&nbsp;3rd rank&nbsp;in the Karnataka CET 2014 (Engineering stream).<\/li>\n<li>He has also secured ALL INDIA RANK- 7 in the scholarship exam KVPY, as a result of which he has already secured admission in the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore.<\/li>\n<li>In the International Physics and Chemistry Olympiads he was among the top 38 in the country as a result he has already secured a seat at the prestigious Chennai Mathematical Institution.<\/li>\n<li>Also, he has scored 100 in Mathematics, Chemistry, Statistics and 99% in Physics in the recently declared PUC 2014 results.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><br><\/p><p>Including Sumith, a total of 13 students from CFAL have been assigned ranks in JEE-Advanced and are eligible to take seats at IIT\u2019s or other centrally funded institutes admitting students through JEE-Advanced results.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aa72bd9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"aa72bd9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The JEE Advanced exam is the gateway to admissions for the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology and at ISM Dhanbad. A total of 9,784 seats are available across the various IITs and ISM Dhanbad.\u00a0.<\/p><p>About 13.57 lakh students appeared for the exam across the country in the first stage of the exam i.e. JEE Main. Only the top 1,50,000 candidates, based on their scores in paper-I of JEE (Main) 2014, were eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2014 which was\u00a0 conducted on May 25<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p><p>In the past, selections in competitive exams like IIT-JEE in the Mangalore region were abysmal. That is there was a general opinion that these exams are extremely difficult. So for engineering, CET or AIEEE was the only other choice.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b26c071 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b26c071\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>This achievement by our student shows that our children in Mangalore have the high caliber required for excelling in National level examinations.
