MANGALORE STUDENTS EXCEL in National Talent Search Examination – NTSE (State Level) 2013-14 Kenrick Pinto a student of Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL), gets 1st rank in Dakshina Kannada (2nd in Karnataka)

Eleven students trained at Centre For Advanced Learning (CFAL), Kuntikan, Mangalore have been selected in the first stage of National Talent Search Examination (NTSE).

The details of the selected students are as follows:

Department of State Education, research & training (DSERT) conducts the first stage of NTSE. This year, a total of 51,320 students had appeared for the NTSE exam from Karnataka which was held on 17th November 2013 and only 235 students(0.5%) have been selected among them.   In Dakshina Kannada,  1924 students had appeared and 20 students (1.1%) have been selected. In Mangalore, 646 students had appeared and 16 (2.5%) students have been selected. www.dsert.kar.nic.in The selected students have carved a name for themselves and to Mangalore in the state wide competitive examination. Eleven students among them were trained at CFAL. These successful students will now appear for the second stage of National talent search examination (NTSE) on 11th May 2014. Last year also, 1st and 3rd ranks in Karnataka were cornered by CFAL students at the state level by Pulkit Sareen and Adarsh Somayaji  respectively. 

 

NTSE is a flagship activity of NCERT in the direction of nation building for identifying and assisting around 1000 most talented students studying in X standard from all over India, year after year and nurturing them through generous scholarships and opportunities. These successful students are also called NTS SCHOLARS. They will be eligible for a scholarship of Rs.6,000/-per annum from the succeeding year till they finish their Ph.d. NTSE scheme covers areas like sciences, social sciences, engineering, medicine, management and law.  www.ncert.nic.in
