Centre for advanced learning(cfal) students excel in JEE MAIN 2013

22 students of cfal within State Rank 750 10 students within State Rank 100

22 students trained at centre for advanced learning (cfal), Kuntikan, Mangalore have made it within the top 750 ranks merit list(state level) in JEE-MAIN 2013 (AIEEE).  Among them 10 students are among the top 100 state ranks(including all categories).  The results show that 35% of our students will get a seat in NIT Suratkal.

More than 11 lakh students appeared for JEE-MAIN 2013 (AIEEE) across the country. All these students competed to be eligible for seats available in 30 National Institutes of Technologies and other government funded institutions. The competition is very tough. After the country’s prestigious engineering examination JEE Advanced(IIT-JEE), JEE-Main(AIEEE) is considered to be the next best choice for enthusiastic students aspiring to take up careers in engineering.

CSAB(Central Seat Allocation Board) allots seats for admissions into 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), all Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 13 Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) and more than 20 self-financed Technical Institutes (SFIs) for the academic year 2013-14 based on JEE Main 2013 all India Rank list.

The NIT’s are the most prestigious engineering institutions in India and are renowned throughout the world. JEE-Main is the entrance exam for the NIT’s and it tests candidate’s proficiency in mathematics, physics and chemistry. This year, the Class XII board marks carried 40% weightage and JEE scores 60% weightage for admissions. Admission would be granted based on all India rank, category rank and the choices submitted by the candidates. Students getting admissions in NIT’s and successfully completing the engineering degree are assured of good placements and plum jobs. The special attraction for the Karnataka students is that at NITK Surathkal, 50% of the seats are reserved to them. From 2014, there is a proposal to conduct a single engineering entrance exam (JEE Main) nationwide, and to discontinue state level exams like CET.

Other results of cfal: In JEE-Advanced 2013, cfal could bring out good results with 13 of their students being selected. This is the highest selections from Mangalore and Udupi. Six students from cfal have been selected for Kishore Vaigyani fellowship in 2013. In Karnataka CET 2013, six students of CFAL have secured ranks within 100.

CFAL had trained the students for 2 years. This consisted of 1400 hours of class room training, tests and mock exams. Experienced and dedicated professors mentor the students and the course material is unique. It has been tailor-made for professional entrance exams including JEE(Main & Advanced),CET and BITSAT. Quality is the main focus at cfal. Constant monitoring and individual attention to students has contributed to these phenomenal results.

There was a general opinion that getting into NIT’s was extremely difficult if not impossible and hence in engineering, CET was the only choice. cfal had started the training program with the aim of changing this paradigm and the results speak for themselves. This establishes the truth that we have very intelligent students in this region but there had been a lack of proper guidance and information. Now that cfal has overcome this void, students of this region can avail this facility as is locally available.
