MANGALORE STUDENTS TOP THE LIST FIRST & THIRD ranks in the state secured by students of CFAL Mangalore in the National Talent Search Examination – NTSE (State Level) 2012-13.
The FIRST and THIRD ranks in the State level National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) have been secured by Mangalore students, Pulkit Sareen & Adarsh Somayaji respectively. A total of nine students trained at Centre For Advanced Learning (CFAL), Kuntikan, Mangalore have qualified in this prestigious examination.
This year 50711 students appeared for the NTSE Exam from Karnataka, held on 18th November 2012. Department of State Education and Research Training (DSERT) has selected 223 students among them. Out of the 13 students selected from Mangalore, 9 students were trained at Centre for advanced learning, Kuntikan, Mangalore making a huge contribution of nearly 70%. Securing the first and third ranks by our students is a landmark achievement and debunks a prevailing myth that qualifying in highly competitive professional examinations is not possible from smaller cities like Mangalore.
These selected students are eligible to write the second stage of the exam at National Level which will be conducted by NCERT on 12th May 2013.
Details of the selected students from Centre for advanced Learning are as follows:
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) awards 1000 scholarships to talented students of Class X each year selected through its National Talent Search Scheme and then nurtures their talent by providing financial assistance in the form of scholarship. The awardees receive a scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- per annum up to Ph.D. level. During the academic year 2011-12, 6 students from Mangalore were selected at the National level for the award of scholarships and all these awardees were trained by Centre for advanced learning Mangalore.
